Signs of usage cannot be more obvious and beautiful. This is one of two Red Wood Powder Boxes from the
Kegel-Konietzko-collection, one more magnificent than the other. The majority of the fine carving has been brought to its full brilliancy owing to years of intensive usage.
In such boxes the
(Ba)Kuba stored one of their most frequently used pigment rsp. mixed a cosmetic paste: the Red Wood Powder. On the inside of the box there are still significant traces visible.
