PREFACE

What does Origomundi stand for?
Origomundi is derived from the Latin origo mundi and means literally “The creation of the world”. According to these words our name stands for the fundamental strength and natural beauty.

Who is Origomundi?
Two friends, Alexander Dorn and Christoph Erbslöh, are the founders of Origomundi, both are enthusiasts about tribal art. Just as equally we are bound by the by similar high standards by everything we do. That is why we established ORIGOMUNDI with the support of experts, of whom some have stayed with us as advisors and mentors.

ABOUT THE OBJECTS

Do all offered objects belong to ORIGOMUNDI?
No. The objects are to be found at the respective former owners – our business partners (private owners or collectors, museums or antique dealers). ORIGOMUNDI works like a classic art gallery. The owners of suitable objects authorise us to put their objects up for sale.

Why we do not make the location of the objects public?
Because we broker every potential buyer personally with the respective owner. Please observe therefore the next FAQ.

Can I view the objects “live”?
Yes. Via the function “questions about the object” you can arrange a viewing appointment with us where the object is located.

Are the objects genuine?
ORIGOMUNDI does not import “goods” from the country of origin; all our objects come from the stock of private owners and collectors, museums or antique dealers, whom we approach directly respectively. are recommended to us. This business model of an art gallery is the fundamental device for our quality.

What does “genuine” actually mean?
Genuine – in the world of ethnographic – means for us, that the objects have at least been designed in the style of the respective tribe and also made by a member of this tribe.

ABOUT THE WEBSITE

Is the function “registration” sensible?
