The art of the Dogon people belongs to the most artificial of all African tribes. Furthermore intense ritual use and alteration gives these items a very special effect.

This item belongs to the collection of Boris Kegel-Konietzko since his mother Lore Kegel collected it within one of expeditions in the 1950s. Estimated age is the second half of the 19th century.

Crusty partly sweating ceremonial patina.
